Empowering students with industry-relevant skills
Training that leads to jobs
At iTFE, we are dedicated to preparing students for success in their chosen career paths. Through our practical courses and hands-on learning approach, we equip students with the skills, knowledge, and experience necessary to excel in their fields. As part of our curriculum, structured workplace learning is a mandatory component in all of our courses. Through our work placement opportunities, students gain valuable real-world experience, further enhancing their readiness for the workforce. Not all courses have work placement – maybe talk about the trainer real life industry experience.
How does it work?
VDSS enables secondary students to gain practical industry skills while completing their
VCE, including the VCE Vocational Major (VM). Programs run February to November, with
some courses requiring structured workplace learning (SWL) during school holidays.
Year 10 students can join our Taster program to help choose their VDSS course for Years 11 and 12.
What are the benefits?
The program contributes to high school requirements, improves academic scores, develops practical skills and experience, provides nationally recognised qualifications or credits, and creates pathways to higher-level courses, traineeships and apprenticeships.
