Course Overview

iTFE has developed the ‘HLTINFCOV001 – Comply with infection prevention and control policies and procedures’ unit of competency which addresses current COVID-19 responses and precautions which covers infection prevention and control policy and procedures.

The course can be delivered face to face, virtual classroom or online of approximately 4 hours plus assessment. Participants will learn a range of skills, including:

  • Hand hygiene practices
  • Effective surface cleaning
  • Use of personal protective equipment
  • Disposal of contaminated waste
  • Hazard identification, control and reporting
  • Appropriate protocols and responses in the event of an incident
  • Knowledge regarding the basis of infection and transmission

Accreditation
